About me

Meet Julie Shapiro: Your Health, Fitness & Wellness Guru

I’m Julie, an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, a Yoga Teacher, Yoga Therapist, and mom who understands how easy it is for women, especially moms and caregivers, to put themselves last. 

Through my own journey, I learned that strength isn’t just about how much you can lift or how flexible you can become. It’s about feeling capable in your body, calm in your mind, and confident in how you move through your life. Yoga helped me step out of overthinking, reconnect with myself, and build a deeper sense of trust in my body, and that’s the foundation of everything I teach today.

With over 20 years of experience and having worked with high school and college athletes to busy mom's training to keep up with the demands of raising kids, working full time jobs and everything in between, I know that sustainable fitness is all about meeting my clients where they are and helping them to reach their goals! 

I work primarily with busy women and caregivers who want to feel stronger, think more clearly, and show up fully for their families and themselves. My goal is to help you feel at home in your body again — strong enough to handle life’s demands and grounded enough to enjoy it.

Because when you feel strong and supported in your body, everything else becomes possible.

  • What is your cancellation policy? If you need to cancel for any reason, I need at least 6hrs notice or else you forfeit your session.
  • What is your refund policy? I have a strict no refund policy. You can contact Book My Guru with further questions on this.
  • What if I don't reach my goal in the time alloted? Results will vary based on your dedication and the time and effort you put in not just in session but outside of sessions. Results are not guaranteed.
  • Do you offer nutrition programs? No, I am not a registered dietitian. We can discuss general healthy eating and how to read food labels or how to create a healthier food environment. But I do not prescribe diets.
  • Do you offer discounts? No
  • Are you certified? Yes, as a personal trainer and as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist.
  • How long have you been in the health and fitness industry? 20 years
  • What does a typical session look like? Depending on the package it may vary, but all fitness packages include warm up, full workout, and cool down.
  • How do I measure progress if the scale does not move? I recommend taking measurements and observing how you start to feel in your clothing as a way to gauge your progress. Also, I encourage my clients to become aware of their energy levels and productivity overall.
  • Can I continue after the 5-week session is over? Yes! Absolutely you can continue to work with me until you feel you are where you want to be!
